|She holds lectures to students of academic and professional study programs and to students of postgraduate studies at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. She is the leader lecturer of the subjects: Milk and Dairy Products Technology, Functional Foods and Nutraceutics, Production and Quality of Milk and Dairy Products, Safety and Quality Assurance of Food, Nutrition, Probiotics.
She has 30 years of research experience in biochemistry and microbiology of milk and milk products with a focus on the lactic acid bacteria, bacteriocins and probiotics. In the recent years she is studying the intestinal microbiota and the impact of early nutrition and intestinal microbiota in the development and health of the child. She has experiences in testing the effectiveness of probiotic bacteria in animal models and in clinical trials, as well as in quality control of probiotic products and in development of novel functional products. In 2012 she received Jesenko Lifetime Achievement Award, awarded by the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana.
