Closing conference of the LIFE for Acid Whey project

The conference is the closing event of the LIFE for Acid Whey project, co-financed by the European Financial Instrument LIFE. The main theme of the project was sour whey, which remains after the lactic acid fermentation of milk, with which we obtain products such as cottage cheese and Greek type of yogurt. Due to the content of lactic acid, processing into powdered products, such as whey concentrate and whey isolates, in the case of sour whey is more technologically demanding and more often ends up in dairies as waste. In the project, the company Arhel cooperated with the Institute of Dairy Science and Probiotics of the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana.
The LAKTIKA project, entitled "Fractionation and processing of whey proteins and exploitation of the residue for the formulation of new functional foods and food supplements", which took place under the auspices of the Operational Program for the Implementation of European Cohesion Policy 2014-2020, was also presented. it was held in the Slovenian language. Visiting lecturers from abroad had a presentation in English.
