Projects LAKTIKA, LIFE for Acid Whey and F4F - food for future

Researchers from IML-PRO in cooperation with various research partners have been successful on both Slovenian and European calls for co-financing research projects. Thus, several projects which are cofounded by European found are currently running on:

  • LAKTIKA - Fractionation and processing of whey proteins and exploitation of the residue for the formation of new functional foods and food supplements.The project is being implemented in the framework of the Operational Program for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy for the period 2014-2020. The project is co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Slovenia, and will be completed by the end of 2021. The project leader is dr. Maja Justin Zupančič from Arhel d.o.o., and the leader at the Biotechnical Faculty UL Res. Couns. dr. Bojana Bogovič Matijašić.   • LIFE for Acid Whey - Reuse of waste acid whey for extraction of high added value bioactive proteins. The project is co-funded by the European LIFE+ financial instrument, for the period 4.7.2017-30.6.2021. The company Arhel, d.o.o. will carry out the project (coordinator) in the partnership with the Institute of Dairy Science and Probiotics of the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana (principal investigator sen. res. sci.   • F4F - Functional Foods of the Future. The project is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (EKP 2014–2020, from the set »Smart Specialisation« research and inovation strategies, priority area »sustainable food production«). Coordinator of the project is Žito d.d., Ljubljana, and IML-PRO is involved in the implementation as a partner. The project lasts 4 years (1.9.2016-31.8.2020).
